What Are Saponins?
Saponins are phytosterol compounds derived from natural plants growing wild in the high deserts of the American southwest and the mountains of northern Chili, known and used for food and medicine by native people for centuries. In both regions these plants live in harsh and stressful environments. Saponins are a class of nutrient molecules hooked up with alkaloid, sterol, or triterpenoid compounds. Their ability to survive under adverse conditions makes them extremely valuable for human health.
Saponins have three unique features:
- Saponins are "bile acid sequestrants". that have the ability to bind with cholesterol and pathogens entering the body forming molecules too large to be absorbed through the intestional wall. These cholesterol and pathogen molecules are then carried through the digestive system, forcing them to be eliminated. This process not only reduces cholesterol, but by binding the harmful pathogens, saponins also relieve stress from the body's vital immune system. This enables the body's natural immune factors and antibodies to be more efficient in combatting harmful diseases and low grade inflammation that is so very important in reducing progressive heart disease.
- Saponin molecules are "nonsystemic", meaning they do all their work within the intestinal tract and do not enter the rest of the body. Therefore, damaging side effects to the liver and other vital organs cannot take place.
- Saponins breaks down and removes impacted rubber-like matter on the colon walls and act favorably on flora organisms in the intestines, encouraging growth of friendly bacteria and decreasing harmful bacteria. This healthy balance triggers the body's own natural immune system to help eliminate frequent colds and flu, yeast and other fungal infections as well as constipation and digestive disorders.
A century ago heart disease and cancer were somewhat rare. However, with the advent of today's processed foods, laden with fats and sugars along with our nation's lack of exercise, the average American today is overweight and unhealthy. Heart disease and cancer are now running rampant in our society.
We can help by exercising and limiting our intake of these foods. However, it is impossible to eliminate them all. The answer may be as simple as adding natural plant saponins to our daily diet.
Saponins simply helps your body do what it was designed to do. Because your body is functioning more efficiently, you should notice a noticeable increase in your energy level within the first few weeks.
